Privacy Policy

Astrolo is operated by Digital Ave LLC ("Astrolo", "we", "us"). This policy explains exactly what we collect when you use astrolo.io or the Astrolo mobile apps for iOS and Android, why we collect it, who processes it for us, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

1. What We Collect

  • Account information: your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, your name where you choose to share it. We use this to create and secure your account.
  • Birth details:the date, time, and place of birth you enter for yourself (and for any connection profiles you add) so we can calculate charts, readings, and reports. Birth place is text you type — we never access your device's location.
  • Things you write in the app: journal entries, daily check-ins and mood scores, and your conversations with Astrid, our AI guide. This content exists so the app can reflect it back to you; it is visible only to you and the systems that store and process it, described below.
  • Subscription and purchase status:whether you have an active subscription, which plan, and its renewal state. Payment details (card numbers, billing address) are handled entirely by Apple, Google Play, or Stripe — they never reach our servers and we cannot see them.
  • Identifiers and usage analytics: an account ID, a device identifier, and product analytics events (which screens are used, feature engagement) via PostHog, so we can fix problems and improve the product.
  • Website log and error data: when you browse astrolo.io, our servers receive standard technical data such as IP address and browser type, and our error-monitoring tools capture diagnostic details when something breaks.

2. How We Use It

  • Calculate your birth chart and generate personalized readings, horoscopes, and reports.
  • Power Astrid's responses in chat.
  • Create and manage your account and subscription.
  • Send transactional email (receipts, password resets, account notices).
  • Send marketing and product-update email — you can unsubscribe from these at any time with one click.
  • Understand how the product is used so we can improve it.
  • Respond to support requests.

Astrolo's readings and reports are for entertainment and self-reflection. They are not medical, legal, or financial advice, and we do not use your data to make any such determinations about you.

3. Who Processes Your Data

We don't sell your personal information, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers. Your data is processed only by the service providers that run Astrolo:

  • Supabase— database, authentication, and hosting of your account and content.
  • Apple App Store, Google Play / RevenueCat — mobile subscription purchases and entitlement management.
  • Stripe— payment processing for web purchases.
  • Astrology computation providers(such as AstrologyAPI) — we send birth date, time, and coordinates (not your name or contact details) to compute chart positions.
  • AI providers— your chat messages and relevant chart context are processed by third-party AI services solely to generate Astrid's responses and your written readings. We do not permit this content to be used for advertising.
  • PostHog— product analytics.
  • Sentry— error and crash monitoring.
  • Resend— email delivery.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Astrolo, our users, or others.

4. Retention and Deleting Your Account

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account) or by emailing us. Deletion removes your chart, journal, check-ins, chat history, and profile after a 14-day grace window — the window exists so we can restore your account if you change your mind or it was deleted by mistake. After it passes, the data is permanently deleted from our systems.

5. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information (most of this you can do directly in the app).
  • Unsubscribe from marketing email at any time; transactional email continues while you have an account.
  • Request a copy of your data by emailing us.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you these rights by law; we honor them for everyone regardless of where you live. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and we do not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

6. Security

All data moves over encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to production systems is restricted, and payment credentials never touch our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we design so that a minimum of sensitive data exists in the first place.

7. Children

Astrolo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

When our practices change, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email.
