What is Black Moon Lilith?

Start with the shape of the Moon's orbit. It is not a clean circle but an ellipse, a slightly stretched loop, with Earth sitting off to one side rather than dead center. That means the Moon rides closer to us at one end of its path and farther away at the other. The far end, the spot where the Moon swings out to its greatest distance from Earth, is the lunar apogee, and Black Moon Lilith marks it.

So Lilith is a calculated position, not an object. There is no rock, no dark second moon, nothing you could catch in a telescope.
